MNS 4585 AIR QUALITY STANDARD HAS BEEN REVISED AND APPROVED

At the meeting of the Environmental Standardization Technical Committee held on June 3, 2025, the standard "Air Quality — General Technical Requirements (MNS 4585)" was revised and approved for implementation. In line with the Government Action Plan's initiative to establish a “Standardized Environmental Sector” through partnerships among the public sector, private sector, and civil society organizations, a working group was established under Order No. A/03 of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change in 2025. This group was tasked with revising the MNS 4585 standard on Air Quality — General Technical Requirements. The working group conducted a comparative study of the ambient air quality standards of countries such as the United States, South Korea, China, and Russia, and aligned them with the interim target levels recommended by the World Health Organization. As a result, the indicators for PM2.5 (fine particulate matter), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), and carbon monoxide (CO) have been revised and updated accordingly.
